“an unexamined life is not worth living.”
I’ve just sat down and asked myself
“What was the most memorable experiences for me in 2023?”
The I started my list.
Here are a few out of 23 precious experience I’ve had in 2023:
- Sweatlodge with Theo. This was the most challenging experience in my life. With the heat and darkness, I could not see. I can only trust my soul to get me through the intense heat. Throughout the journey, I cried, i grief, I shouted and experienced my long suppressed anger. At the end, my heart was open and I felt an overwhelming force of love. I wanted and did give almost everyone a hug after.
- IMS5 with Paul Chek. This is a 5 year learning journey coming to an end. I am grateful for everything I’ve learned from the CHEK institute which allowed me to do what I love and help other live a more fulfilling life.
- Working with my clients. I love you all. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my passion and love with each and everyone one of you.
- Blue cliff monastery retreats. I did two 5 day retreat within a span of two month. I experienced ultra clarity of mind and felt more centered in my heart.
Out of all of the 23 memories that has impacted me, grew me, challenged me.
None came from “things”.
As much as I struggled with sweets and overeating, that was not an experience that was important to me.
Nothing I bought brought was on the list.
This is the first time I did a reflection like this and it showed me what is really IMPORTANT to me.
I invite you to take an hour or two out of your day and start with the question “What was the most memorable experiences for me in 2023?”
Or
“What grew me in 2023?”
Or
“What is the most meaningful moments for me in 2023?”
Don’t look at your calendar.
Let your heart speak to you, and jot down what comes to your mind.
Write down the moment and why it was important to you?
Did the moment helped you feel connected, challenged, or emotional in some way?
What is the common theme among these moment?
Now I invite you to use these moment to plan your 2024.
If working hard and long toward something was not on the list of your favorite moments of 2023. Then maybe it’s time for you to choose what you do what to experience in 2024.
For me, I’d like to experience more connection with myself, connection with my friends and family. I will (not want) to continue to challenge myself physically, emotionally and mentally through my yoga, movement, meditation and taichi practice.
I will continue to learn about holistic health in ways that resonates with me.
I will continue to practice feeling my emotions, observing my thought and connecting to my heart so I can share these with my clients.
I will seek out more ways to express my creativity, my emotions and my thoughts.
Thank you for reading this. I sincerely hope you do this exercise as it give me a lot of clarity on where I want to spend my energy and my resources toward.
