What is ELDOA?

ELDOA is a series of postures that creates alignment in the spine. Once you’re in this position, you will hold the position for at least one minute, you will be using your myofascial within your body to create space, decompress your spine. At the same time you are strengthening your spinal muscle. This helps your spine be more mobile and flexible. The position are challenging, and very rewarding as you will feel taller, lighter, calmer and less stiffness and tension after each ELDOA alignment poses.

ELDOA is a form of targeted exercise therapy. By changing the position of our hands and legs, we can target specify part of your vertebrae in your spine. All the nerves runs through your spine. For example, someone with L5/S1 disc bulge/herniation can do the ELDOA posture specifically for L5/S1, this will open the space between L5/S1 to allow the nerve to communicate with your hip and lower body more clearly.

Understanding Pain

Pain can comes from different levels:

One the physical level, it’s caused by compression and inflammation. ELDOA address this by decompression.

On the emotional level, stored unexpressed emotions can be stored in our body’s myofascial system. ELDAO address this by using the fascia chain and create elongation, which opens up the tight fascia and release stuck emotions.

On the mental level, in a world where we tend to get stuck in our head, ELDOA help by creating more space within our body, we are able to bring out mind and consciousenss into our body and settle within our body. 

On the spiritual level (my definition is: a greater sense of wholeness within), the fasica looks like a spiderweb and the fascia connects to every organ, muscles and joints in the body. The fascia represents connection within us.

I don't normally write reviews but the experience here was amazing. My work requires me to sit in the office 9 to 9 everyday so my lower back always hurt and my body feels stiff. First class is free so I highly recommend everybody try it. Ending is extremely knowledgeable, hands on and interactive despite it being a group class. I left the class feeling weightless and relaxed. Fascia stretching is such an interesting concept and I can see how doing this long term can really help with chronic pain and alignment.

Took the first free ELDOA class today. The focus is on alignment and breathwork to lengthen the spine while learning to engage the deep core muscles and stretch the fascia. Sounds like an easy task but definitely difficult to do! I would definitely consider taking this class again or have an individual assessment in the future. Thanks, Enqing!
